How a High Level Amateur Golfer Strategizes for a Tournament

A key component to a balanced approach to golf is strategy. It's not impossible to play well without a good course strategy, but you leave playing well just that much more up to chance.

I've been doing this type of round planning and course strategy for about 8 years, including when I made it to the finals of the 2017 U.S. Mid-Amateur and the Round of 32 in the 2021 U.S. Mid-Amateur. It's my way of remaining logical amidst all the emotions of a competitive round.

In this video I take you through my planning process for my upcoming North Carolina Mid-Am Qualifier.
